Ayaan Sharma a social media influencer 24 years. Currently in Mumbai. From Delhi.
Akriti Saxena a first year medical student 20 years. Currently in Bhopal. From Delhi.
Both from two worlds apart would their world Collide ever?
It sounds like a more organic, almost accidental connection - the idea of a seemingly insignificant message creating a ripple.
Akriti's Message
It's late, and Akriti is drained from a long day of lectures. As a little escape, she opens Ayaan's latest vlog, where he's giving a candid talk about staying motivated and chasing dreams. She's admired his positivity for a while - his content is her breather in the chaotic medical world.
On impulse, she sends him a simple, heartfelt message:
"Hey Ayaan! I know you might not see this, but your videos have genuinely been a source of positivity for me during my toughest days in med school. Thanks for reminding people to keep going even when it's hard. Just wanted to say that you're making a difference."
After sending it, she sighs, knowing it's like whispering into a void. It's not like a social media influencer with millions of followers would notice a message from someone like her. Shrugging it off, she gets back to her studies.

Ayaan's Random Scroll
Two days later, Ayaan is at a café with his friend, scrolling aimlessly through his DMs. The messages are a blur - compliments, questions, random greetings. His friend teases him about being "so adored," and Ayaan laughs, muttering that it's all a part of the gig.
Out of habit, he opens a few messages. Some are just quick emojis or "hi," but one catches his eye:
"Hey Ayaan! I know you might not see this, but your videos have genuinely been a source of positivity for me during my toughest days in med school..."
Something about the sincerity of it makes him pause. He opens the message fully, reading it twice. Without realizing it, his thumb accidentally taps on the profile picture, and suddenly, Akriti's profile opens.
Her profile is simple - a few pictures of her with friends, her college library, some study notes, a picture of her laughing with her hair falling into her eyes. There's a certain warmth to it - not curated, not filtered for social media. Just real.
Ayaan doesn't even notice that he's been staring until his friend leans over, smirking.
"Bro, whose profile are you stalking with that much focus? A fan, huh? Let me see!"
Startled, Ayaan quickly locks his phone, his ears a little red.
"Shut up, man. Just... someone's message. It was different, that's all."
His friend laughs, but Ayaan finds himself thinking about Akriti's message later. It wasn't like the usual over-the-top praise or demands for a reply. It felt like a quiet acknowledgment.
And before he can question it, he clicks on her profile again, wondering if a reply would be too strange.
The Unexpected Reply
Later that evening, Ayaan is still thinking about Akriti’s message. He rarely replies to DMs unless it’s for collaborations or important work, but there’s a nagging curiosity he can’t shake off. Before he can overthink, he types out a reply:
"Hey Akriti! Just saw your message. Thanks for sharing that — it honestly means a lot to know my videos reach people like you. Med school sounds intense! How do you balance it all?"
He hovers over the send button for a moment. Is it too casual? Too direct? But he’s not one to second-guess himself, so he hits send and locks his phone.

Akriti’s Surprise
It’s nearly midnight, and Akriti is lying on her bed, notes scattered everywhere. Her phone lights up with a notification, and she glances at it lazily — until she sees the name: Ayaan Sharma.
She sits up so fast that her notes slide off the bed. Blinking at the screen, she reads the message twice.
Her first thought: Is this a prank?
Her second thought: Okay, breathe. Just be normal.
She types out a response, deletes it. Types again, deletes again. After a few moments of staring at the screen, she finally replies:
"Hey! Wow, I didn’t expect a reply. Thanks for even reading my message! Balancing it is... well, a mess most of the time, but we get through it, right? Your videos help a little with that, so thanks for putting them out there."
She debates whether to add a smiley face, decides against it, and hits send. Immediately, she regrets not adding a smiley face.

Quick Connection
Ayaan is still up, lying on his couch and mindlessly scrolling when the notification appears. He reads Akriti's response and chuckles at the candidness. Without hesitating this time, he replies:
"Glad to hear that! Med students have my respect — I can't imagine all the hours you guys put in. If my videos give you a breather, I’ll take that as a win."
Akriti’s confidence returns now that the initial surprise has settled. Her fingers fly over the keyboard:
"Haha, yeah, considering I was binge-watching your vlogs during a study break, you’re partly responsible for my procrastination."
Ayaan laughs out loud, drawing a curious look from his roommate.
"Oops, my bad! I’ll consider it motivation instead of procrastination. What are you currently studying?"
And just like that, their conversation flows — from how Akriti is currently struggling with anatomy to Ayaan joking about not knowing the difference between the radius and ulna. Akriti teases that if he ever needs a crash course in medical jargon, she’s his girl. Ayaan responds that if she ever needs a crash course in going viral on social media, he’s got her back.
It’s nearly 2 AM when Akriti realizes she’s been messaging him for hours. She hesitates before sending her next message:
"Hey, I just realized it’s super late, and you probably have a million better things to do. But this was... surprisingly nice. Thanks for the chat, Ayaan."
Ayaan’s reply is quick, almost like he was waiting:
"Same here, Akriti. This was genuinely fun. I’m glad I randomly scrolled through DMs today. Take care, and good luck with your med school chaos!"
She sends a quick goodnight and closes the chat, her heart buzzing.

Lingering Thoughts
Ayaan lies awake, staring at the ceiling, wondering why a random conversation with a med student feels more refreshing than any recent collaboration or content strategy meeting. On the other end, Akriti scrolls through Ayaan's profile again, unable to fully grasp that she just had a genuine conversation with someone she used to think of as unreachable.

(A/N)If you like this, I can continue to build their dynamic — maybe a situation where they cross paths again or an online interaction that escalates into something more. Let me know!
